We need any paperwork that you may have for the car, like the
V5 registration document, service history or any receipts of work done and also the locking wheel nut key
Cash payments are now illegal for scrap metal including scrap cars so if we are buying your vehicle as scrap we will pay by instant bank transfer, which clears before your car is taken. If we decide that your car is worth selling to salvage or in a vehicle auction, we will pay you cash up £50,000 depending on the car of course.
We usually collect your car the same day you request your quote, once we arrive to collect your car, we are literally there for 10 minutes, we will fill your paperwork out first so you can then leave our driver to load your car and continue with your day.
No, you do not have to be there, a family member, friend or even a neighbour can present your car for scrap, we will pay by bank transfer anyway, so we just need your bank details and somebody to hand over the key and paperwork.
This can happen sometimes, but this will not prevent us from collecting your vehicle, we have specialist equipment to help us gain access to the vehicle, in this case it is important that you give us any information regarding height restrictions or obstructions that could prevent a recovery truck from gaining access for example an underground car park, this will mean we bring the correct equipment for the job.
Again, this is fine, we have specific paperwork for this situation, we do however require photographic ID of the person presenting the vehicle for scrap
All we ask is that you take anything of value out of the vehicle and don’t leave any household rubbish in there, the vehicles are processed the same day which means anything left in the car will also be crushed.
We fill the V5C out for you but DVLA require the registered keeper to notify them so you do this by posting the V5C to the address on the back of the form, we will give you clear instructions when we collect your car as well.
No, all the scrap vehicles we buy are all recycled, which is better for the environment and also means your vehicles are used to make new products, you may even buy it back as a washing machine.
We used to give an online quote like most other vehicle valuation companies but it’s difficult for a computer to generate an accurate quote for a vehicle when there are so many things that can affect your quote, it’s more accurate for us to speak directly with the customer.
We are very proud of the fact that we offer some of the best prices on the market and we promise to ‘Beat any realistic quote’
If you have received a Salvage quote from us, it basically means that because of the year, model or make of your car it will be sold to salvage where it will be broken down for parts instead of being crushed, this also means you’re getting a better than scrap price.
This price is based on the auction value of your vehicle which means it will be sold at auction to a motor trader, again this means you’re getting a better than scrap/salvage price.
All you have to do is notify DVLA of the sale of your vehicle, this is done by posting the yellow section of your V5 to DVLA with all our company details on and the correct date of sale, DVLA will automatically issue a road tax refund to the registered keeper in the form of a check in the post, this usually takes a few weeks from the date you sold the vehicle.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult for us to load and secure a vehicle with no wheels onto our trucks, we need them on wheels to get them on the truck without damaging the truck bed and we use straps secured around the wheels to hold it tight and secure onto the truck.
As we don’t use and online quoting system, we always get straight to the most accurate price for your vehicle so there is no need to change the price when our drivers get there, we go straight to the best price, the only thing that can affect your price is if there are parts missing that you failed to tell us about over the phone, we make a verbal agreement over the phone and we stick to it.
Yes, we arrange a time and day most suitable for you, we work on 1 and a half hour slots so it gives our drivers plenty of time to deal with each vehicle meaning they are always on time, we have been using this system for many years and it always keeps us on track.
As soon as we collect your vehicle you can cancel or transfer your insurance, as we take all vehicles away on a recovery truck, we do not require insurance to take them away.
The certificate of destruction (COD) is a legal document issued by the authorised treatment facility where your vehicle is disposed of. It is proof your vehicle has been handled correctly and disposed of according to government standards.
The authorised treatment facility we use is the leading metal recycling company EMR (European Metal Recycling) they have facility’s all over the UK and overseas also, due to the size of EMR they can pay the best rates for vehicles which in turn means we can pass them rates on to our customers, all there sites are fully licensed and have been given authority to depollute and dispose of end of life vehicles.
You can declare your car off the road easily online using your V5 document number and your registration, or you can take your V5 into a local post office and they will help you carry this out, this procedure is called a statutory off-road notification or SORN. Once you have carried out this procedure you can no longer drive or keep your vehicle on a public road until you tax the vehicle at your local post office.
Each vehicle price varies depending on weight of vehicle, we have a system that gives us an accurate weight of each vehicle using the DVLA database so we can get our prices right the first time, also some prices could vary depending on age and condition of vehicle as we buy salvage and auction vehicles, speaking directly with one of our staff determines the best option for your vehicle.
All out quotes are given free with no obligation, again speaking to one of our members of staff will ensure your given the best possible quote for your vehicle, we will always do the best we can to help our customers and we always give the most accurate price but this is not always the best price for the customer and we make no effort to talk a customer into selling to us, it’s the customers right to refuse a quote and look elsewhere.
We buy all vehicles, we have recently stopped accepting caravans as they are mostly made of wood and very little metals, we end up paying more to dispose of the wood than we make on the metals, motorbikes have become a problem also as there difficult to depollute although newer bikes can be sold at auction so it’s always worth an ask if they’re not passed repairing.
It’s quite simple, just arrange a time with your garage for us to pick it up from them, send us over a picture of your V5 or Photographic ID and as soon as we get to the car, we will transfer your payment over to your bank account and return a picture of our purchase Invoice showing vehicle details and our company details, once you are happy, we will take your vehicle away.
As a long-standing recycling company, we aim to recycle every vehicle we get a call for, we haven’t refused a single vehicle unless we can’t fit It on our recovery trucks, that being said we can carry all cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes.
Condition has no effect on a scrap price as we pay by weight of vehicle, as long as there are no missing parts any condition will do, we buy accident damaged, MOT Failures, list keys and even mouldy cars, we take them all apart from any filled with rubbish.
